Leif Wellington Haase, Senior Program Officer, The Century Foundation

Leif Wellington Haase, senior program officer and healthcare fellow at The Century Foundation, will give a present and future perspective on universal care. Haase will focus on how current strategies in Massachusetts and California will influence the nation. He outlined how to achieve universal health coverage in Deal for Health: How to Cover Everyone and Get Medical Costs under Control, which was published in 2005. Haase has authored many other books, including The Basics: Medicare Reform and Medicare Tomorrow. Prior to joining The Century Foundation, Haase taught at Yale and at the Dalian University of Technology in the People’s Republic of China. He holds degrees from Yale and Princeton University.
