Dr. David Gratzer, Physician, Author and Healthcare Expert
Dr. David Gratzer is a physician, distinguished author, newspaper columnist and senior fellow at the influential Manhattan Institute for Policy Research. His articles regularly appear in America’s most prominent newspapers, including the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. Dr. Gratzer won the prestigious Felix A. Morely Journalism Competition in 2000 and has received numerous awards in recognition of his writing including the Donner Prize for Best Canadian public policy book. His most recent book, The Cure: How Capitalism Can Save the American Health Care System, has garnered national media attention and prompted debate among politicians on both sides of the political aisle.
In his writings, Dr. Gratzer offers a cogent case against socialized healthcare. He argues that government interference has been detrimental to American healthcare and has increased the cost of insurance by mandating coverage for extraneous services and advocating laws protecting providers from competition. He convincingly maintains that free-market forces offer the best means for healthcare reform.
Dr. Gratzer’s presentation is underwritten by Stryker.
