Jon Slater, President and CEO, Optivus Proton Therapy, Inc.

In 1993, Jon founded Optivus Proton Therapy, Inc. to develop proton beam treatment centers throughout the world. He has more than 18 years of experience in proton beam therapy and has led the Optivus executive team to create one of the industry’s most premier proton beam therapy systems.

Prior to founding Optivus, Jon led the engineering team of Loma Linda University Medical Center in developing the world’s first proton beam treatment center. In 1998, he founded PerMedics, Inc. to create PC based software solutions for proton beam therapy, as well as conventional radiation therapy.

Jon holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he also attended graduate school for Computer Science. He gives frequent presentations on proton beam therapy around the world, as well as, delivers both technical and business lectures at universities.
